Where the Warm Weather is.
Summer is starting to poke its head around the corner and I'm ready for the longer days and slower work schedule: aka I'm ready for some quality quilting time to knock some quilts off my WIP list! In no particular order, five things taking up my brain space these days are:
-
This article on Hawaiian quilts. Just. So. Beautiful. It makes me want to set aside my impatience with applique and dive into a huge Hawaiian quilt top ASAP.
-
But...I know myself and my inability to focus on applique, so I'm thinking of whipping up some floor pillows like this free pattern instead.
-
When I do finally get around to tackling some applique, I know I'm going to be using this thread gloss: I already use it for all my hand quilting (and the natural beeswax scent is just divine).
-
Part of my saying "yes" is being better about not over committing myself: this new weekly challenge to commit to "one thing" is exactly what my project list needed to get it back in order.
-
What my project list didn't really need (but definitely really wanted) was the addition of this new pattern by Eliane at Patchwork & Poodles and this one by Tiffany at Village Bound Quilts: they are both so good! And if you're looking for a free mini quilt pattern, I know of a good one ;)
