When it comes to holiday cookies and quilt patterns, I like to have options. I mean, if every Christmas Tree looked exactly the same, where would be the fun in it all?!?!! Quiltenbaum is built to be a "choose your own adventure" style block: make sure to pay attention to the options throughout the pattern as you never know what adventure they’ll take you on!

The quilt block pattern has four different styles of trees to choose from and you can easily mix and match a bunch of different styles of trees, add in a little sashing, and presto, you’ve got yourself a quilt (or a table runner, a set of placemats, or whatever you can dream up!).

I love the look of three solid or three bold stripe trees with a tiny striped tree (because you always need one "Charlie Brown" tree in the mix). But I also think this pattern is the perfect place to put some fabulous print scraps to work (and maybe add in a dash of fussy cutting!). Here are a couple illustrations of some ideas that I have rattling around my head these days :)

Broadcloth Studio Quiltenbaum Block - Throw Size Idea 2

Broadcloth Studio Quiltenbaum Block - Placemat Idea
